Padme's Gown from the Cut Family Scene in Attack of the Clones

I had a request for the outfit Padme wears when visiting her family when she goes to Tattoine in Star Wars Episode II. The scene was unfortunately cut.

The fabric is hand dyed. I purchased trocus shells and hand dyed them as well. They are adhered to ribbon and hand stitched to the fabric. The brooch is fashioned from sculpy clay, painted and buffed with silver Rub n Buff. The head piece is made from Wonderflex and sculpy clay. I hand painted it as well and used silver Rub n Buff.

draping/pattern making- 4 hours
cutting and sewing - 4 hours
dyeing - 4 hours
brooch and head band - 6 hours
dyeing, gluing and sewing shells - 6 hours
finishing touches (buttons, tacking and hemming) - 5 hours
about 29 hours excluding time collecting fabrics and notions

Fabric - $15 yard x 5 yards = $75
Dye - $4
Trocus Shells - $20
Buttons - $12

About $158 excluding shipping costs, thread etc.

Fireside Ensemble from Episode II

Here is the fabric I got for the black  outfit Padme wears fireside with Anakin. It is a black velvet devore with a silver satin underlay.

I Love this outfit! I wish I had the abs to pull it off. ;)

Supplies - I bought fabric for this dress about six months ago. It is an ice blue jersey knit. Soooo soft. I got about 8 yards. Extra for room for error... which seems to happen ALoT with me. An additional light weight cotton matching fabric to line the cape.

Flat beads from www.beadsinbulk.com. Those were super hard to find. If they weren't the right size, the weren't the right color. I finally found them (ahhhhhhhh!!! <---- angels singing). I also bought black seed beads from Michael's to space them.

My beads strung with lame thread... Pretty close, huh?

Next, fabric paint for the cape. The outfit has a really cool either, embossed or silk screened design on the cape.

Last but not least (and probably not last) I purchased silver colored Sculpy for the head dress. I will let you know how this works.

Padme Amidala Rainbow Lake Gown

This dress is modeled after Padme Amidala's Pastel Lake Gown in Episode II - Attack of the Clones.

This dress is made from hand dyed ombre fabric. Yellow, pink, lilac, and light blue. It is a halter style dress with a plunging back. The sheer overlay is also hand dyed and edged with a satin type blanket binding. Front and back has a mother of pearl type shell decoration with satin ribbon gathering. 

I hand make the necklace and arm bands from a form of plastic called styrene. It is cut, shaped, painted and edged. The painting is a faux style that looks like mother of pearl.

I will post pictures of the head bands soon. They are dyed purple with small seed beads hand sewn on.

A disclaimer; because this dress is hand dyed, there can be small imperfections due to the dye on the dress or sheer. I try to avoid this at all costs! ;)

This dress takes 6 - 8 weeks to custom sew.
